Dog and cat de-shedding in Andheri West
De-shedding takes out the loose undercoat that a double-coated dog cannot shed on its own. Almost every cat breed benefits from it too. Less hair ends up on your floor, and the skin can breathe in Mumbai's humidity. We never shave a double coat to stop shedding.
- Suits
- Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Huskies, German Shepherds, Beagles, and almost every cat
- Takes about
- 1 to 1.5 hours
- How often
- Every 25 days
What happens on the table
Most of the undercoat comes out in the blow-out. You can watch it on the screen in our waiting area.
- Step 1
Check
We part the coat and look at the skin. We ask when your pet was last groomed and how it copes with the dryer.
- Step 2
Bath
A shampoo chosen for the coat and skin, which loosens the dead undercoat.
- Step 3
Blow out
A high-velocity dryer pushes loose undercoat out as the coat dries. This is where most of it comes away.
- Step 4
Brush and rake
An undercoat rake and a slicker brush, section by section, until a comb runs cleanly to the skin.
- Step 5
Finish
Nails, ears and hygiene areas, and a tidy of the feathering. We tell you what we found.
What de-shedding costs depends on the coat
WhatsApp the breed and a photo of the coat. We send you a figure before you book.
What the price depends on
- Breed and size
- How much undercoat has built up
- How long the blow-out and raking take
- How your pet copes with the dryer and the table
Asked about de-shedding
Will de-shedding stop my dog shedding?
No. Shedding is how a double coat renews, and no groom can stop it. De-shedding removes the loose hair, so far less of it lands on your floor for a few weeks.
Does de-shedding hurt my dog?
It should not. We work section by section and let your dog rest in between. A tight mat is a different job, and we will tell you if we find one.
Can I de-shed my dog at home between visits?
Yes, with the right rake and a few minutes twice a week. Ask us when you collect your dog and we will show you which tool and how.
Does my cat need de-shedding?
Almost every breed of cat benefits from it. We take out the loose undercoat gently, at the cat's pace, with breaks whenever your cat needs one.
Send us a photo of the coat
Tell us the breed and when your pet was last groomed. We will reply on WhatsApp with what we would do.
