Pet Pamperer Certified Professional Programme
A 40-day professional pet grooming course in our Andheri West salon in Mumbai. You work on more than 75 real dogs and cats across breeds, and practise scissoring on dummy fur. It ends with an in-person assessment and a Pet Pamperer certificate.

The international course, or this one
Both courses use the same syllabus, tutors and grooming volume, in this salon on real pets. The international course adds an assessment by Colin Taylor Academy, UK, and a second certificate. This programme gives you full salon training and a certificate from Pet Pamperer, grooming in Andheri West since 2011.
Six modules
Each one is taught in the salon, on real pets.
- Tools and equipment: clippers, trimmers, blades, scissors and thinners, their upkeep, and setting up a station
- Safety first: safe handling, health checks, lifting, disinfecting, aggressive pet management, muzzles, first aid and special-needs pets
- Skin, coat and behaviour: de-matting, allergies, infections, hotspots, ticks, fleas, pad care and breed health issues
- Bathing: shampoo choice, breed-specific baths, eye and ear protection, tear stains, anal glands and teeth brushing
- Drying: choosing a dryer, drying by coat type, brushing, combing, de-shedding and nail care
- Haircuts and styling: breed-specific cuts, clipping and scissoring, head, ear, leg and tail styles, and a salon finish

- Who can apply
- Anyone, including complete beginners, as we teach from scratch. Classes are in person at the salon, never online.
- Tools
- We provide professional salon tools for the whole course. You bring your own scissors. A beginner starter set costs about ₹7,000, and we share vendor contacts so you can choose within your budget.
- After the course
- You get alumni mentoring, career guidance, help with business problems and access to the Pet Pamperer professional network. Shams and Jyoti stay available after the course ends.
- Coming from outside Mumbai
- We help students from other cities find safe accommodation within their budget. A few brokers we trust have helped past students.
- If you need more time
- You can extend the 40 days by up to 20 days.

Do I need grooming experience to join a course?
No. The courses are open to complete beginners as well as working groomers. If you have never groomed, the Basics course is a good place to start.
Will I practise on real pets?
Yes, from the first week, under supervision. On the international course you groom more than 75 dogs and cats, along with mannequin practice.
Can I do the grooming course online?
No. Every course runs only in our salon in Andheri West, because grooming is learned hands-on, on real pets.
Can I pay the course fee in instalments?
Yes. You pay half at enrolment and half on the course start date. If you took the taster course, its ₹10,000 comes off the full fee.
Are grooming tools provided during the course?
Yes. You use our professional salon tools throughout. You bring your own scissors. A beginner starter set costs about ₹7,000, and we share vendor contacts so you can choose within your budget.
How is the professional programme different from the international course?
The international course is assessed by Colin Taylor Academy, UK, and gives dual certification. The programme leads to a Pet Pamperer certificate. Shams Lakhani, Founder and Principal and an Internationally Certified Groomer, assesses you in person. Both run for 40 days in our salon.
