Matted hair removal and coat care in Andheri West
We take mats out of dog and cat coats without dragging them through the skin. Most start behind the ears, under the legs and on the belly. A tight mat is locked to the skin, so sometimes a short clip is the kindest option. Between full grooms, we brush and detangle the coat so new mats do not form.

What happens on the table
Mat removal is slow work. You can watch every step on the screen in our waiting area.
- Step 1
Check
We find every mat by hand and look at the skin under it. Mats often hide sore or damp skin.
- Step 2
Loose tangles
Worked out with a comb and a slicker brush, one section at a time.
- Step 3
Tight mats
Taken down carefully, never dragged out. Pulling a mat hurts and can tear the skin.
- Step 4
Bath and dry
Bathed, then dried fully. A coat left damp starts to tangle again.

Asked about matted coats
Why does my dog keep getting mats behind the ears?
The hair there is fine and moves all the time, so it tangles fast. A few minutes of combing twice a week prevents most of it.
Will you shave my dog if the coat is badly matted?
Yes, if the matting is tight and widespread, because a short clip is kinder than hours of pulling. We tell you before we start, and why.
How do I stop my dog's coat matting?
Comb right down to the skin, not just the top of the coat. Mats start close to the skin, where a quick brush on the surface misses them. We can show you which comb to use at your next visit.
